Parkville Precinct
Melbourne Health is part of the unique Parkville Precinct - just north of the Melbourne CBD - which is home to world-leading organisations in health care, research and education.
The Victorian Government’s Parkville Precinct Strategic Plan highlights the opportunities from the close proximity of key institutions such as The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The University of Melbourne, the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, and the relocation of the Royal Women’s Hospital beside the RMH City Campus.
These institutions, along with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, are now planning for the development of the Parkville Comprehensive Cancer Centre, as outlined in the Parkville Precinct Strategic Plan. The development of the Parkville Comprehensive Cancer Centre became a reality when it received funding from both the State and Federal Governments in May 2009. |
