Who Pays?
Medicare Services Patinet who hold a valid Medicare Card and elligable to have many of their services subsidised by Medicare. As a BULK BILLING service, Melbourne Health Pathology does not ask elligable patients to pay over the bulk bill amount. The list of pathology services covered by Medicare Australia can be found in the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), which is now online.
If you do not hold a valid Medicare card, you will be liable for pathology services. Pathology services for overseas visitors are invoiced at the AMA rate.
Tests with out-of-pocket expense Your doctor may order some tests that are NOT covered by Medicare Australia (ie they do not appear on the MBS, online). These are known as non-rebatable items or non-MBS tests and are payable by the patient.
Please note: Melbourne Health Pathology may charge for other non-rebatable tests on behalf of another pathology provider.

2. By Credit Card over the Phone
Telephone Pathology Billing Hotline on (03) 9342 4926, between 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday with your invoice and Credit Card details. Outside of office hours, leave a message and your call will be returned on the following business day.

Credit card, cheque and Australia Post money order payments can be sent with the Payment Advice to the address below. Cheque and money orders should be made to "Melbourne Health Pathology". A receipt will be mailed to you. |

You may need a receipt for Medicare rebate or tax purposes. Simply complete the details below and we will dispatch your receipt in the mail in the next business day. |
