Melbourne researchers tackling drug resistant influenza

Two of Australia’s top medical researchers have received funding to investigate better treatments for patients with drug resistant influenza viruses. Dr Aeron Hurt and Dr Ian Barr of the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory (VIDRL), part of Melbourne Health, are one of five research teams in a joint funding arrangement between Australia and Singapore.

Australia Day Australia Day honours for two RMH leading clinicians

Two of The Royal Melbourne Hospital’s internationally renowned clinicians have been recognised with an Order of Australia in the 2013 Australia Day Honours list. Professor Stephen Davis and Associate Professor Jitendra Vohra were recognised with an AM in the General Division of the Order of Australia for their significant contribution to medicine.
