RMH leaders receive Australia Day honours

The Royal Melbourne Hospital congratulates two leaders who were recognised in the 2012 Australia Day honours.

Prof Frank Vajda was awarded an AM for his services to medicine.  Honorary Principal Research Fellow of the Howard Florey Institute, Senior Associate Research Fellow of the Neuroscience Centre, University of Melbourne and Professorial Fellow at RMH, University of Melbourne, Prof Vajda is a national and international figure in neuropharmacology of epilepsy, and runs the national epilepsy pregnancy register at the RMH.

Father (Rev Dr) Bill Uren received an AO for “services to education as a philosopher and bioethicist and commentator on contemporary issues in Australian society” .
Father Uren is a long-standing and highly valued member of the RMH Clinical Ethics Committee.
