Rob Moodie to present inaugural RMH Oration
26 March 2008
Do you ever feel stuck in a rut? Do you wish you had more time to spend with friends, to eat well and feel better? Would you like to take up a healthy hobby, such as meditation or jogging, but don’t know where to start? How do you overcome the stresses of a busy healthcare environment?
True wellbeing and happiness come from having a balanced approach – to what we eat and what we do to maintain our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual fitness. However, acquiring that fitness isn’t always easy.
Rob Moodie, Professor of Global Health at the University of Melbourne’s Nossal Institute and former CEO of VicHealth, will present the inaugural Royal Melbourne Hospital Oration, as part of the hospital's 160th anniversary celebrations.
The oration, titled "Recipes for a great life. . . Life balance for everyone in hospital communities - Looking after yourself whilst looking after others”, will be held on Thursday 27 March, 5.45pm for a 6pm start, at La Trobe Lecture Theatre, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Grattan Street, Parkville.
Prof Moodie this month published the book “Recipes for a Great Life - Simple Steps to Wellbeing and Vitality” with chef Gabriel Gate.
Light refreshments and music follow the oration.
Free event - all welcome.
