Dialysis group award honorary life membership for three decades of dedication
12 December 2007
North West Dialysis Service's Technical Services Manager Tony Beeston has been awarded honorary life membership of the Dialysis and Transplant Association of Victoria (DATA), for his longstanding work to transfer and install members' dialysis machines at DATA holiday homes in Rosebud and Yarrawonga.
The NWDS technical team also received a certificate of appreciation for their hard work, which enables people who would otherwise have difficulty taking a trip away from home, to go on holidays.
President Lloyd Samuel said: "The members who dialyse in the holiday homes are very grateful for the service they get from all the tech staff. Thank you to the dialysis technicians from the parent hospitals for providing support when their patients are using the holiday homes."
Mr Beeston has been helping NWDS patients for 33 years, travelling extensively through the State to service dialysis machines in both private homes and at NWDS regional satellite and metropolitan centres, as well as supporting holiday trips.
The NWDS technical services team, which also includes Brian Hatchett, John Smyth, Janice Pickering and Megan Ruff, maintain 320 haemodialysis machines as well as their water treatment and reverse osmosis systems, across Victoria and southern New South Wales.
