Opera In The Market 2007: supporting medical research at The Royal Melbourne Hospital Tickets for Opera In The Market 2007 are now on sale, announced Melbourne Lord Mayor John So, the Opera in the Market patron, at The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park Campus event launch.
Next year, Opera In The Market returns with a line-up of stellar performers, including trumpet virtuoso James Morrison, lyric soprano Jacqueline Mabardi and Roy Alexander Best from Operatunity Oz, to raise money for medical research at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
David Jones, Executive Director of The Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation, said that it was an honour to have such a high calibre of performers raising funds for a worthy cause.
"The Royal Melbourne Hospital fosters world-leading research in oncology, neurology, nephrology, infectious diseases, cardiology, urology, diabetes, plastic surgery and many other fields.
"All net proceeds from Opera In The Market 2007 will support exciting medical research projects at the hospital," said Mr Jones.
The announcement was celebrated with a performance from tenor Roy Alexander Best.
