  Annual Audit of Research Projects

The Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) is required to monitor research in accordance with the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007). Part of the monitoring process includes an annual review of Progress Reports. Researchers are required to submit a Form 12: Annual Audit of Research Projects upon request, on completion of the research, or if the research is discontinued prior to the expected date of completion. Reports are required at least annually.

Based on the information provided in the Annual Audit report, the HREC may recommend a random inspection of the research site, data and signed consent forms, or that research participants be interviewed.

As part of the Annual Audit, researchers must complete the following forms as required. See Form 12: Annual Audit of Research Projects form for details.
