Capital works
The Royal Melbourne Hospital precinct is a hive of building activity. As well as the adjoining Royal Women’s Hospital due for completion in 2008, the Victorian Government is also spending $56.3 million to redevelop The Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department. This is an exciting project which will allow us to double the size of our existing department and improve access for our emergency and trauma patients. The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research has also announced plans to expand its facility adjacent to RMH.
