Facilities Management is responsible for providing a range of support services that are rarely seen by the public, but are critical to Melbourne Health's overall ability to function and deliver quality health services.
Administered by Melbourne Health, Facilities Management also provides support services to Northern Health and Western Health.
Facilities Management is responsible for:
Clinical Engineering
Provides technical and consultative support to both clinical and administrative areas, maintaining more than 3000 items at The Royal Melbourne Hospital alone, and under contract to other health services and the private sector.
Engineering Services
In-house engineers, trade staff and specialised contractors provide a wide range of support programs including substantial corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, essential service compliance, energy management program and 24 hour Emergency Response programs.
Food Services
Operates the production kitchen for Melbourne, Northern and Western Health Services, annually producing more than 1.2 million hot meals that are delivered to 20 sites.
Supply and Logistics
Provides purchasing, warehousing and distribution services to all facilities at Melbourne, Northern and Western Health Services and co-located Private Health Services.

Manages five cafes and car parking facilities across Melbourne, Northern and Western Health Services Health Services, as well as the Australia Post Office and Function and Convention Centre at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
