  Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy

Pastoral Care is concerned with, and upholds, the importance of the holistic care of individuals by addressing the connections between physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.

Pastoral Care aims to respond to the diverse spiritual and emotional concerns experienced by people who are hospitalised and those who care for them - their family, friends and hospital staff. It also seeks to address a person's present needs within their unique circumstances, frameworks of meaning, and spiritual expression.

Denominational and faith visitors attend the hospital regularly or by referral, to provide patients with specific rituals and sacramental ministry according to their faith tradition.

Pastoral Care offers:

  • A safe and confidential environment for exploring an individual's issues of significance,
  • A sustaining presence to support them through their time of crisis and transition,
  • Appropriate rituals and sacramental ministry in response to specific spiritual needs,
  • Pastoral counselling by appointment, available on request. Click here for contact details
