  Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice is open to Registered Nurses, who are registered with the AHPRA.

The course consists of four (4) subjects which will be delivered by The Royal Melbourne Hospital(RMH) and the Australian Catholic University (ACU).  The Graduate Certificate is recognised by ACU National and leads into their Master of Health Sciences (Clinical Practice).

Aim
The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice aims to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and skills to practice in their specialty area at an advanced beginner level.

Program Structure
The subjects will be delivered through a variety of teaching modalities. This includes a combination of lectures, tutorials, clinical simulation, online learning and worksheets.    Assessment consists of assignments, a clinical practice portfolio and online components.

The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice can be completed in one year, full time or two years, part-time.  However, if you have completed a graduate year in 2011, the program must be completed over two years

The total course fees for 2012 are $4932 (subject to yearly review).

Application Requirements
To apply, you must be a Registered Nurse with an appropriate Nursing degree.

To Apply
Applications for the 2012 Februrary intake into the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice have now closed.  

Award on Completion
Upon successful completion of the program you will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice in the stream you have chosen to complete.

Employment
To undertake the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Practice you will be required to be employed at the The Royal Melbourne Hospital. This will be negotiated as part of the application process.

Employment conditions will be based on the Nurses (Victorian Public Health Sector) Award.  If part-time employment is required, this can be negotiated with the Post Graduate Nursing Program Coordinator in collaboration with the Nurse Unit manager of the area.
