Service Description |
The falls and balance clinic provides multidisciplinary assessment and a management plan for clients with falls, mobility and balance problems, aiming to: improve client’s mobility; reduce client’s falls risk; maintain/optimise client’s function and; reduce carer burden. It is primarily an assessment service, with referral to community services and liason with the GP to implement the recommended strategies. |

Routine referrals
- General eligibility
- Clients who have falls as their main problem and no obvious explanation for the falls
- Unsteadiness/loss of confidence resulting in significant avoidance of activity
- Community dwelling or low level care resident
- Needs medical and allied health assessment
- Dizziness/Vestibular problems with associated falls

All referrals must include:
