RMH prides itself on assisting in the development of future nursing leaders and RMH graduates are highly sought after within the health care industry, greater than 90% of our graduates elect to seek employment back with RMH. Ongoing employment is offered following successful completion of your Graduate Nurse Program with the opportunity to undertake clinical rotations in specialty areas.
Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing
Our postgraduate course is run in affiliation with Australian Catholic University (ACU). RMH is proud to be the first hospital nationally to conduct this university-affiliated postgraduate program. The graduate certificate aims to prepare registered nurses for the advanced beginner level of specialty practice. Through the combination of theory and practice, the course offers an opportunity for progressive development in knowledge, skills and competence in the student’s chosen field of practice.
Students undertaking the graduate certificate in their chosen specialty stream will:
- Extend their knowledge base to enable them to practice at the advanced beginner level
- Develop specialty specific clinical skills in health assessment
- Utilise key underpinning principles to plan, implement and evaluate specialty nursing practice
- Demonstrate clinical competence at a beginning level of specialty practice
- Explore societal, ethical, legal and professional dimensions of specialty practice
- Demonstrate commitment to the dignity of the human person and the sanctity of life
