Department of Human Services (DHS), Mental Health Branch
The Victorian State Government Mental Health Services website. It contains information about accessing services, patient rights and general descriptions of mental illnesses.

Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, Mental Health
The website of the Mental Health Branch, of the Australian Government's Department of Health and Ageing. Contains reports, strategies and mental health information.

Health service providers

ORYGEN Youth Health
A mental health service for young people who live in the Melbourne western metropolitan region. It is part of NorthWestern Mental Health. ORYGEN Research Centre is a key component of ORYGEN Youth Health and integrates a comprehensive research program with clinical, education and training services.

Support services

Mental Health Foundation of Australia (Victoria)
The oldest Mental Health Association in Australia, it is an organisation of professionals, sufferers, families of sufferers, members of the public and related organisations concerned with mental health.

SANE Australia
A national charity helping people affected by mental illness and works in partnership with a number of Australian and International Groups.

The Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria (EDFV)
The EDFV is a consumer orientated organisation that provides support, information and referral options for people with an eating disorder as well as their family and friends.

Beyond Blue
A national, independent, not-for-profit organisation that aims to increase community awareness and address issues associated with depression, anxiety and related substance misuse disorders in Australia.

Carers Victoria
A state-wide organisation that provides services to support carers in their caring role, as well as education, training and advocacy programs to increase awareness of carers and carer's issues.

The Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture (VFST)
A rehabilitation centre established to meet the needs of people who were tortured or traumatised in their countries of origin, in other countries, or while fleeing those countries. It is non-denominational, politically neutral and non-aligned.

Academic, professional and research organisations

Department of Psychiatry, The University of Melbourne
The Department of Psychiatry is the largest of its type in Australia. It provides comprehensive under-graduate and post-graduate study programs, conducts cutting edge research and is actively involved with the leadership and policy development of clinical services.

Mental Health Research Institute
An independent, incorporated research organisation that aims to further knowledge of psychiatric conditions in an attempt to improve its diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

The Victorian Centre of Excellence in Eating Disorders (CEED)
A web site for health professionals that provides eating disorders resources, educational opportunities, links to clinical practice guidelines, specialist services, other eating disorders websites and an interactive discussion forum for professionals across Australia.

Victorian Mental Health Library
This library service is managed by The Royal Melbourne Hospital Library. The collection is located on the Ground Floor, Main Building of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Grattan Street, Parkville, Victoria.
