Cultural Portfolio Holder The role of the Cultural Portfolio Holder is to:
- Promote culturally sensitive practice in all programs of the mental health service;
- Convene the AMHS Cultural Working Group; identify issues and gaps in culturally sensitive practice across the service, set priorities, desired outcomes and implement strategies, in consultation with the Area Manager;
- Support the Bilingual Case Managers in the development of culturally responsive service activities;
- Co-ordinate the provision of cross-cultural resources for staff and translated information for clients;
- Promote and undertake community liaison with ethnospecific agencies and other agencies that provide services to CALD groups;
- Contribute to community education programs for CALD communities on mental illness and mental health services;
- Co-ordinate cross-cultural training programs for staff;
- Report on culturally sensitive practice issues and activities to AMHS executive meetings;
- Liaise with the Ethnic Mental Health Consultant and other Cultural Portfolio Holders, and attend meetings of the cross-regional Transcultural Advisory
Group (TAG).
