GP Access Emergency Department |

|
The Emergency Department at The Royal Melbourne Hospital provides care to the highest acuity emergency patients in Victoria. More than 55,000 patients attend the department annually, including 3000 trauma cases. The new $53 million Emergency Department redevelopment was completed in September 2009 and officially opened in October 2009. The expanded facility significantly boosts capacity to treat more patients and meet growing demand. By 2015, the department estimates it will treat more than 64,000 patients annually.
