Supervision

A dedicated Supervisor of Intern Training and Director Clinical Training are appointed for mentoring, career guidance and general support for our junior medical staff. Their roles include: supporting professional development programs, providing counselling and information on career options, faciliating feedback about performance, liaising with supervisors of training at rural locations, advocacy for junior doctors and ensuring all relevant staff work according to the values and behaviours of Melbourne Health.

Mentoring, Career Guidance and General Support

All members of the Medical Education Unit are available to assist you throughout the year on career planning, feedback and work/life issues.

In addition, for those with an interest in pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. David Smallwood and Dr. Peter Hand are available and for those with an interest in surgery, A/Prof Russell Gruen and Mr. Ben Thomson are available.

For specific career planning the Directors & Supervisors of Training are there to assist and guide you.
