 Mental Health Training and Development Unit


The NorthWestern Mental Health Training and Development Unit (MHTDU) is committed to professional development and training for clinicians of all disciplines in mental health/psychiatric programs.

The MHTDU is a unit of NorthWestern Mental Health and its primary role is to assist in the workforce development needs of clinical staff. It offers a variety of workshops and programs designed for mental health practitioners of all disciplines.

Registering to attend a workshop:
To attend a workshop registering participants must complete and a submit a training registration form via fax/post. Workshop registrations close 5 working days prior to the workshop date. 

To ensure a place in a workshop, early registration is highly reccomended due to limited avilability.

Confirmation of Registration:
Please note: due to an overwhelming response with the release of the 2013 Calendar, turn around for processessing of registrations may be delayed. 
All registrations will be conifrmed via email within 5 working days. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 5 working days please contact us via phone or email.

A reminder confirmation email will also be sent to registered particpants one week prior to the workshop.

Time and Location of Workshops:
Workshops advertised are full-day workshops 08.30am regsitration, 09.00am start until 04.30pm unless otherwise indicated.
Workshop times and locations are listed on the Calendar and are included in the workshop confirmation email. Attendance for the full duration of the workshop is mandatory.

If the workshop is already fully booked, the MHTDU will notify the applicant and will be placed on the waiting list. The applicant will be contacted if a position becomes available.

Cancellation Policy:
The MHTDU has a strict policy with regard to changes or cancellations to registrations. An administration fee of up to 50% of the course fee will apply to all cancellations made within 7 days prior to the workshop day. Name changes to the registration can be made up until the day prior to the workshop.

Costs:
There is no attendance fee for internal applicants (staff currently employed by Melbourne Health) NWMH staff attend free of charge.

There is an attendance fee for external applicants (applicants not currently employment by NWMH) please find below schedule of fee's below:

Two day workshop $ 374.00 inc GST
Full day workshop $ 187.00 inc GST                                    
Half day workshop $ 100.00 inc GST

The MHTDU welcomes enquiries and requests for assistance. Our training consultants can assist in the identification of organisational training needs and the development of training processes. On-site, team-based and discipline specific training can be tailored to the individual requirements of organisations across Australia.
